Melbourne’s population is just under 4.5 million, 49% (!?) are blokes (Men & Boys) – most trying to make a “better” world for themselves AND others ( at whatever degree that might be, rightly or wrongly) – for a dozen males to come “together” on a voluntary level to glean from a professional who has a passion for people – in this case for men (AND a passionate “sister” of a brother who died from suicide!), for men who simply need a leg-up is nothing short of inspiring and encouraging… check it out for yourself OR for someone you know!

Peta Kerryn statement:
I lost my brother to suicide which made me realize the lack of support for men’s mental health.
We are trying to build a brotherhood to help put an end to men suffering in silence. Men who do not know one another coming together to build a brotherhood. Hosted by myself and a trained family therapist/drug and alcohol counsellor wanting to put a stop to men suffering in silence…
Men of Malvern?
The Men of Malvern Inc. was established in 2012 and is a registered charity made up of group of local men who have chosen to come together to support the health and welfare of men. “We are good men, doing good things and by doing so, setting a good example”.
Our members LIVE OR WORK IN MALVERN, or have a significant connection with Malvern. At each Annual General Meeting we elect a committee to guide the activities of the group. Currently we have about 90 members and welcome new MEMBERS. The committee aims to involve the whole membership in decision making where possible.
Consist of supporting worthwhile projects in the Men’s Health and Welfare area, and providing opportunities for socialization and education amongst our members.
We seek out PROJECTS that are worthwhile, assess them and if it is within our means to do so, use our resources to act. Whilst we are a local group and seek to be active within our community, we are not limited by the boundaries of Malvern. Chosen projects may be supported financially or by using our knowledge, skills and influence to achieve an outcome. Financial support may come from within the group, or from fund-raising as we find new projects to support.
The Men of Malvern meet quarterly or thereabouts with an invited speaker, usually in a Malvern restaurant. We continue to explore new opportunities to get together.
